Formerly, the dam was named Boulder Dam, but was later called Hoover Dam as a tribute to the erstwhile-President Herbert Hoover, who had made great contributions to the establishment of this enormous development. With 221 meters in height, 379 meters in length, and more than 35.000 cubic kilometers of full capacity, the large structure could yield more than 4,2 billion kWh2 per year.
