Hospice of Santa Barbara offers numerous programs for those terminally ill and their families, especially children. One in 20 kids lose at least one caretaker before becoming an adult, and one in 5 loses a relative before 18 years old. The organization assists people cope with the loss through its many programs. Kenny Slaught explains that the surviving family members avoid the risk of developing mental health issues after processing their feelings.
