Nearly 100 years ago, architect George Washington Smith started the Spanish Colonial Revival style. Smith dropped out of Harvard to work as a bond trader, and later came back to Santa Barbara to pursue his painting hobbies. However, the architect decided to continue creating artworks for Californians upon realizing how famous his paintings were. Smith mixes the old with the new in his designs, and is one of the founding fathers of Santa Barbara. Numerous new architects followed his artistic lead, and Kenny Slaught recognizes the keen eye for detail required to create such pieces.
